●Little Things●

The sound of an ice cube melting inside a glass of water is one of my favourite sounds.. I find it strangely beautiful that the cracked, melted ice cube still holds the ability to become an ice cube again while the fact that it won't be the same ice cube ever again hurts me a little..

The smell you get while lighting a match, the smell of wet mud; I don't really know what heaven is actually like or if it even exists, but I'd like to say that those fragrances are heavenly..

The taste of the water freshly filled in a new earthen pot, for me, cannot be compared to the taste of anything else in the world.

The feeling of wind blowing through my hair is one of the best feelings.. it's one of the very few selfless caresses .. no expectations, asking nothing in return.. just pure embrace.

I like to observe the sky.. the patterns and the images the clouds form.. Someone once said that "Everytime an artist dies, God lets them paint the sky to say goodbye" and that's probably why the sky is never the same on two different days. Now, isn't that a beautiful theory to believe in?

There are these little things which have always been around us, which make our lives a little more beautiful, which, in the presence of the other "bigger" things, we almost always miss to acknowledge.

I've always been a person who's had a constant fear of missing out on the best things, but over time I've pondered about what "best" is really? I understood that "best" is a relative concept, you'll know something is the best only if you have experienced all the other possibilities and felt that one of them was the better one among all..
"Every path is the right path. Everything could've been anything else. And it would have just as much meaning."
 -Tennessee Williams
[- Nemo Nobody, Mr. Nobody (2009)]

I feel that the way a painting becomes admirable when an artist works on it patiently, one layer at a time, the journey of life also becomes worth reminiscing if you take things one at a time, enjoying all the little gifts you've gotten..

We're always so busy wanting to make the most out of our life that we forget to make the most out of the things we're doing, we do not look at things the way we once used to.. we start to focus more on the quantity and lesser on the quality.

We always long for more and more, and we just want to keep everything stored. So much so that we forget to even look at or acknowledge those things. We don't want to lose anything, while we don't even know what that thing means to us.

I would like to leave you here quoting the lyrics of one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite artists.. give it a thought once maybe..
"What are you so afraid to lose? What is it you're thinking that will happen if you do?"
