A Journey Called Life.

When somebody tells “I LOVE YOU”, you usually assume that they mean “I am now going to be a part of you, and be with you forever.” But it actually is something like “I am just going to be a part of your life; it’s totally up to you to make my part cherish-able or hate-able.”

Be it your parents, your siblings, your friends, your “better half”, or for that matter, any person, he/she is NOT a part of ‘the you’ who is going to travel through different corners of life, but are just some good travel companions who take you through different lanes. Some lanes are dreamy and some may seem like hell, some may seem to be never-ending while some may be just a metre long, but long or short, good or bad, each turn is important to reach your destination and each road ends at the beginning of a new one.

Now, let us assume that there are two roads; one is very shabby and dirty, with trash lying all around but clean at the ground level, and the other, which is very very beautiful and has gardens and farms on either side. After you travel past these lanes, you’ll remember both, but for different reasons. You’ll feel nostalgic about the fragrant, fresher path, and would always be ready to visit that path, but about the shabbier counterpart, you’ll thank god that you passed that lane already and would never want to go there again. But now, imagine that you took all the time and effort required to clean that shabby road and even planted a few saplings and nurtured them. Then, think about the way you’ll remember both the roads. You’ll feel more attached to the former-shabby one, because you nurtured the saplings, and put in quite a considerable amount of time and effort to make it beautiful.

Each day we travel down our particular road of life, eagerly watching as our path unfolds. We go about our day making decisions, sustaining relationships, eating, drinking and just living life. Day by day we are flooded with a vast assortment of choices, each affecting how our life plays out. As one travels along the road of life, there are many exits and some detours, many ways to veer from your current path, but you need to be focussed throughout.

To conclude, I would like to assert the fact that- you are the only “you” that God has created! This means that you can choose to make a difference in the world by making a difference in your own world.  If you do not take charge of your thoughts, words, and deeds, you will do little to achieve anything of everlasting proportions. For now, drive slowly, look for the road signs, stop to help people and remember that no fellow traveller is a part of "YOU", but just a part of your journey through the road of life! 😊
